it started with...
fleeting moments, interactions amongst strangers, and spirited conversations.

As a photographer, it can be easy to get bored of a photography niche. However, there’s something about candids that never seems to get tiresome or overdone. Photographing people, strangers or not, lets you hold onto a small moment of someone’s life. These candids are tied to memories of all sorts of importance to different lives and different people.

However, the memories tied to one of these photographs may be completely different from the subject in the photograph. Perhaps, it was a great day for me– good shots were taken, good locations found… but maybe for the subject, they just found out they have to find a new apartment, or perhaps they need to rush home to their sick pet, there’s no way of knowing.

There’s beauty in that lack of understanding.

Though some of these photographs are of family or friends, the pictures of strangers are my favorite. There’s a mystery to them that cannot be missed. An unfazed reality… something pure. Something authentic.
